Ecuador's ministry merger: June decree and August records

Ecuador's Official Gazette published Executive Decree 425 on June 24, 2026. It ordered the Production, Foreign Trade and Investment Ministry and the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Ministry to be absorbed into the Economy and Finance Ministry. The decree established an institutional reorganization; its publication did not itself prove that every related transfer was finished.
The August 21 Official Gazette listed an agreement issued by the Ministry of Economic and Productive Development under its new name. That record shows the new ministry was issuing formal acts by then. It does not, by itself, verify that every budget, contract, staff position, program or subordinate body had completed its transition.
