Quito Tenis y Golf Club Plans USD 75M Pifo Relocation

Quito Tenis y Golf Club is moving from El Condado to Pifo with around USD 75 million in investment.

The new site is under construction in Pifo, northeast of Quito, after the club spent 50 years in El Condado.

New Site Plan

The club has 106 years of history. Its management says the move responds to the fact that a high percentage of members live in the extended Cumbayá-Tumbaco-Puembo valley.

The new club will cover 110 hectares. Of that total, 80 hectares will be used for golf courses: a small nine-hole course and an international 18-hole course.

The rest of the land will be used for the clubhouse, tennis courts, an Olympic pool and a 90-home urbanization for members.

The small golf course is expected by the end of 2026, while the large course is targeted for mid-2027.

El Condado Redevelopment Signal

The current El Condado facilities cover 78 hectares. Sale of the current site is expected to finance the new headquarters.

The plan described for El Condado includes 24 hectares for a public park, possible road openings to relieve traffic, and a real-estate project with 12-, eight- and six-story apartment buildings.

The potential housing scale is large: management described the project as 1.5 million square meters of construction and said it could hold around 20,000 apartments.

What To Watch

For Quito real estate, the watchpoints are municipal treatment of the park and road components, absorption capacity for a high-density housing pipeline in El Condado, and whether the Pifo move further reinforces development pressure in the Cumbayá-Tumbaco-Puembo corridor.
