Petroecuador Adds 3,181 bpd From New Auca Well
Petroecuador has started operations at the ACAL-245HUI well in the Auca asset, adding 3,181 barrels per day of production.
The output represents an estimated USD 5.2 million in monthly revenue for the Ecuadorian state and approximately USD 31.59 million through the rest of 2026.
Production Context
The Auca field currently produces 64,000 barrels per day. The new well has 17.6-degree API gravity.
The well reached a measured depth of 14,800 feet and included a 2,667-foot horizontal navigation section. Petroecuador also implemented a BES S4000N electrosubmersible pumping system.
The new Auca result follows another recent addition. At the end of May, the AUCA-141H well entered operation and is currently producing 2,400 barrels per day.
Incremental Program
Petroecuador also has three hydraulic fractures programmed in the field, which are expected to add about 1,200 barrels per day.
For the energy sector, the signal is incremental production rather than a new field-scale development. The operating question is whether Petroecuador can keep adding well-level output quickly enough to offset natural decline elsewhere in the portfolio.
What To Watch
Watch the Auca field’s daily production trend, completion timing for the three hydraulic fractures, and whether the additional 1,200 bpd target is reflected in aggregate Petroecuador output data.
