Delivery Hero To Transfer PedidosYa Ecuador To SSW Partners
Delivery Hero signed an agreement with New York-based SSW Partners that includes PedidosYa Ecuador.
Transaction Structure
SSW will acquire Delivery Hero operations in 14 markets, including Ecuador, Chile, Austria, the Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Cyprus, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, and Turkey.
The transaction is part of a broader deal split into two tracks. One track covers 50 markets that will become Uber. The other covers the 14 markets, including Ecuador, that SSW Partners will manage.
Delivery Hero said Uber will not assume control of the businesses transferred to SSW. SSW is expected to lead an independent process to find strategic partners for those operations.
Ecuador Context
PedidosYa Ecuador's previous major corporate change came in March 2021, when Glovo's Ecuador operations adopted the PedidosYa name after the Spanish company sold its Latin American operations to Delivery Hero in September 2020 for USD 273 million.
