
Millicom Plans Tigo Brand Consolidation for Movistar and Tuenti in Ecuador

Primicias reports that Roberto Andino, executive president of Tigo Ecuador, said in an interview with Vistazo that one decision to be executed is that the Tigo brand will absorb both Movistar and Tuenti.
According to Arcotel data cited by Primicias, Conecel (Claro) had 9.6 million subscribers in March 2026, while Otecel had 5.3 million.
Investment Plan
Primicias reports that Andino previously said Millicom invested $450 million in the first months after the purchase, including the acquisition, spectrum expansion and 5G.
He also cited the possibility of investing another $460 million over the next three or four years.
